about

Al Swigert was a fiddler John Stewart and I ran into a lot in the late 70s and thru the 80's. He had a sdiekick named Dick Oltman. Both were from up in Marion County in NE Missouri. Both of these guys play fiddle & guitar and took turns accompanying each other.

They had a penchant for playing the old pop standard, as did many Missouri fiddlers. This partiuclar recording is a result of me just asking Al to lay down a few tracks on cassette and mail them to me. This is what a got. It's unaccompanied fiddle with some commentary. From the mid-1980's sometime.
