about

When I was coming up playing the fiddle a lot of players around Mid-Missouri had fond memories of the late old-time fiddler Charlie (Charley) Cook of Boone County. Cook developed a reputation locally as a “waltz fiddler” and he composed one tune Charlie Cook’s “G” Waltz, which was played by Boone County notables Taylor McBaine, Cleo Persinger and Pete McMahan.
